State of Iraq Not Encouraging
The present economic situation in Iraq is nothing encouraging. It is like the country is still very stagnant economically. The Iraqi dinar is still at its low ebb and it is like things are not really moving on well with the country and its economy. Taking a look at things in the country, one may be forced to conclude that there is no hope for the Iraqi nation to rise and regain its composure in such a way that the Iraqi dinar will get positively affected and the Iraqi economy will receive a great level of improvement. It is like the teaming investors in the Iraqi dinar may be getting their fingers burnt already; since it is like the Iraqi dinar is not appreciating considerably.
The present political state of the country is not helpful at all. Politically, Iraq is not having the best of experience. The country did go to the polls earlier in the year; the month of March to be precise, in an attempt to elect a prime minister for the country. But the election was so much tightly contested between the presently ruling party and the Al-Iraqiya Alliance party among other political parties. The outcome of this hot contest was that the al-iraqiya alliance was able to triumph over the ruling party by a very small margin.
This little difference ensures that the wining party lacks the two-third majority to get its leader being elected as the winner of the election. This situation ensures that Iraq is still without an elected prime minister till date. Since the moment that the election had been over till now, Mr. Iyad Allawi and Mr. Al-Maliki; who are leaders of the opposition party and the ruling party had never been able to se eye to eye on matters concerning who is to be chosen as the prime minster.
The situation described above had really led to a measure of stagnancy in Iraq. The government had to leave several beneficial programs unattended to because the prime minister who is suppose to be in charge is yet to be finally elected or selected. The stagnancy is having its negative effect on Iraq and Iraqis generally. Because of this, the Iraqi dinar revaluation couldn’t be done and the Iraqi economy is still in its ailing condition. Various Iraqi dinar dealers, who had taken the risk of investing in the Iraqi dinar with very high hope of making something tangible out of their investment, are not casting happy glances on situations in Iraqi presently.
Iraqis couldn’t stand this anymore to the extent that they were forced to speak out their minds concerning the present situation in Iraq. Despite all the calls that various individuals and governments are making for Iraqi government to come up with some solution to the present un-encouraging situation, it is like the Iraqi government is yet to wake up to its responsibility of making life more meaningful for Iraqis. All and sundry can only wait and watch with the hope that the Iraqi government will actually wake up to its responsibility to the Iraqi people.
