Land Rover enters the Iraqi Market
January 18, 2010
Dubai Land Rover, a premium SUV manufacturer, announced yesterday that the company is entering the Middle East market by expanding into Iraq. The company appointed Sardar Trading Agencies Limited as the exclusive importer to represent the Land Rover brand; this venture marks the SUV manufacturer’s first official entry in the Middle East region and another positive sign of improvement in Iraq. While the appointment of Sardar Trading Agencies Limited will heighten Land Rover’s market presence with premium sales and after sales service, and strong infrastructure, it will also tap into the potential of the luxury car segment in the northern region of Iraq. Land Rover also displayed its 2010 portfolio at the Erbil Motor Show for the first time, an exhibition attended by Iraq’s key automotive players at the Erbil International Fairground from January 10-13.
The motor show was a focal point for the development of new business channels, in response to the growing needs of Iraq’s and the region’s flourishing automotive industry.
“We are already present in 19 markets in the Middle East and North Africa region and now with Sardar Group, a name which is synonymous with trust and customer care, we will be better poised to service the northern region of Iraq,” Robin Colgan, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover, Middle East and North Africa, said in a press release recently. “We are bringing a strong Land Rover product portfolio to the market and the motor show; and we expect the vehicles to be well received by consumers here just as they have been across the globe and the Middle East region,” he said.
