Iyad Allawi Makes Move to Become Iraqi Prime Minister
Fresh facts are emerging from the Iraqi unsettled political clime. Mr. Allawi is taking steps to win the prime minister’s position of the country. This fact is very contrary to the suggestion made to Iraq by the United States and the United Nations that Iraq should form a government of national unity in which all the political players involved in the country will be fully participatory. It is hoped that the formation of this national government will help to bring some kind of unity among all the political blocs in the country and among all Iraqis. This expected unity is expected to bring lasting peace to Iraq. It is certain that a peaceful Iraq will be able to experience accelerated development.
Critics are saying that the move of Mr. Iyad Allawi is rather self centered. The proposition made by the United Nations was that the various political blocs should come together and form a unity government based on the agreement they are all able to arrive at. The thought of the international bodies is that any effort to impose any individual as the prime minister of Iraq will only result in unbecoming circumstances for the polity of Iraq.
Mr. Iyad Allawi hoped to be bale to achieve his aim through the intervention of the Iranian-backed cleric, Sayyed Moqtada al-Sadr. One of the interesting aspects of the pact between the aspiring prime minister and the cleric is that the two of them were formerly at logger heads. Mr Iyad Allawi hope that the support given him by this cleric will help to give him an easy passage to the position of the prime minister of Iraq.
One other factor that may actually be helpful for the actualization of Mr. Iyad Allawi’s intention is the fact that he is considered as being in support of western ideas. Because of the fact that Mr. Iyad Allawi is pro-western seem to be turning him against the Iraq populace, who still has some grudge against the western world for bringing the war to their country and the ouster of their former president Saddam Hussein. The move of Mr. Iyad Allawi to court the friendship and support of the cleric Sayyad Moqtada al-Sadr was in an effort to get some support from the home front so that he will be able to achieve the aim of becoming the Iraqi prime minister.
All that all and sundry are actually waiting for is the quick resolution of the matter at hand in Iraq. So many individuals world wide are waiting rather impatiently for Iraq to put an end to the political impasse that had become rather persistent in the country.
A quick resolution of all these political problems will ensure that the Iraqi dinar gets its highly expected revaluation and that the Iraqi economy will become stronger than it is now. Every Iraqi live too will be positively affected once the Iraqi government is able to put its house in order and get a substantial government in place on time.
