Iraqi President Jalal Talabani said on Thursday that the unity between the two blocs of Dawlat al-Qanoon (State of Law) and the Iraqi National Alliance (INA) should accelerate the formation of a new government.

“Talabani received in Baghdad on Thursday ambassadors of foreign diplomatic missions accredited to Iraq and shed light on political developments in the country as well as recent discussions and negotiations among the political blocs regarding the formation of a new government,” according to a presidential release received by Aswat al-Iraq news ageny.

The Dawlat al-Qanoon of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and the INA of Shiite leaders Muqtada al-Sadr and Ammar al-Hakeem had announced an alliance on Tuesday to form the largest bloc in the Iraqi parliament and accordingly have a chance to name head for the coming government.
